Ottawa U hosted a Kuwaiti musical group

The Embassy in cooperation with Ottawa university organized a music concert, performed by the Gulf state's Higher Institute for Musical Arts Troupe, and was attended by Canadian senators and house representatives, as well as Arab and foreign diplomats.

An embassy statement, issued Sunday, said Ambassador Musaed Al-Haroun, addressing the audience, expressed hope that this concert would create a new dimension in bilateral relations in the cultural field. He also hoped that it would give the Canadian society a better idea about the cultural heritage of Kuwait and its development over time.

Al-Haroun noted that this was the first such event held here, and that the embassy planned to participate in all of Canada's national celebrations in order to strengthen bilateral relations and give the Canadian public an opportunity to become acquainted with Kuwait's history and achievements.

The concert comes on the sidelines of the participation of Kuwait Embassy, in cooperation with the Information Ministry's Foreign Media Department, in Canada's annual "Tulip Festival" Many public and private bodies, as well accredited embassies, take part in the event.
